One of the best towing modifications I did on my 2000 Tundra was the addition of airbags. The first time I towed without them I was constantly
hitting the rear bumpstops, I was dragging the trailer hitch on driveways. So with this hard lesson learned I decided to install airbags prior
to towing with my new 2008 Tundra.

So I started with Firestone hardline kit part number 2445. As the kit comes with detailed instructions I simply hit the highlight reel here.

This is a "no drill" kit meaning no drilling in the frame in required. However there is a non-reversible modification required is to the
bumpstops. They need to be trimmed as the airbags will take their place. I had the best luck using a sawzall and finishing with an angle grinder.

So this the the bag installed. One mayor difference with this kit as compared to the 1st generation Tundras is that they use two brackets, one in front
of the u bolts, and one behind the u bolts to hold down the bracket. The Airlift airbags I had on my first gen Tundra had only one bracket, which would bend
and slip off the spring perch. This Firestone kits is a much better design.

After mounting the brackets and bags you need to run the air lines. I routed my line between the frame and some slots in the bed.

I then ran my lines out at the license plate, I find this location the easy to reach and clean.
