| This is what $130 gets you from a bone yard, needs
some TLC and paint
| |
| Mindy helping me paint the springs
| |
| The joy of drilling out the stock bushings,
and the black crap is what we refer to as "tire cheese" at work, so I guess this
is bushing cheese?
| |
| The only way to sanely put the new bushings
on without a torch, some liquid nitrogen and a 6 ton hydraulic press
| |
| Over at Bump's house taking one last pic
of the evil suspension, notice the broken add-a-leaf just above the overload
spring, Rancho that's all I have to say right Kev
| |
| Ye old compare the old to the new springs
shot, yeah they are a bit longer and taller
| |
| I knew that bumper would be good for something
| |
| Bumpass grinding down the bushings so they would
fit, gotta love that smell
| |
| Normal ride height
| |
| Shackle setup I decided on using, Chevy lowering
shackle against the frame, my own 8" eye to eye shackle from Chevy shackle to Chevy spring.
| |
| Budbuilt hanger
| |
| Shocks disconnected, flexy poser shot
| |
| Parking brake cable is limiting the
down travel, we can't be having that
| |
| A few weeks later with the All Pro Parking
Brake on, still no shocks
| |
| Double shackle in double shackle action!
| |
| Ass shot
| |
| Pinion angle sucks even more at full droop
than at normal ride height
| |
| LSPV cut off and hung up with an adjustable
turnbuckle
| |
| Poser shots rock nads!
| |
| It would be better if I was in the
garage or still parked on the driveway...the street in front of my house is just too
hardcore...
| |
| My neighbors think I'm on crack, notice
Black Mountain in the background? (Proving Grounds photo
gallery for more info on this mountain)
| |
| Pic of the custom shock cross member Bump built for me
| |
| Close-up style
| |
| This was the first setup, two problems. The
shocks weren't mounted as low as possible and would hit, this was apparent at normal
ride height and two, the resivours shouldn't be mounted on the shock body, doesn't cool
as well.
| |
| Hardcore articulation picture
| |
| Bump building another shock mount as
low as possible
| |
| Close up, this mount wasn't gusseted enough and
ended up breaking but it was re-designed with lots of Guzzets
| |
| Update: broke the crossmember so I had the Bumpus
make a new one...bling bling and over kill!
