Project Intro:
My 2000 Tundra had been an awesome daily driver but never possesed the towing capabilities that I needed. Climbing hills was becoming painfully slow
and decending steep grades were a nail biting experience due to the relatively small engine and brakes. Also at 151,000 it was time to decide if I was
going to keep her or move on. I sold Izzy (to the first guy to look at her) and I knew the 2nd gen Tundras had a larger V8, and much much larger
brakes. The access cab in Izzy was nice but lacked space and was cumbersome to use in tight spaces so the extra space of the double cab also sold me.
So I went searching online to find a 4wd, with a 5.7L, in a double cab short bed. If I wasn't expecting to find much but I found one at a dealer
that was only a year old with 57,000 miles and several scratches...perfect.
